Megadeth is a thrash metal band from Los Angeles, California, formed by Dave Mustaine in 1983, after he was fired from Metallica. Mustaine is also the only member of the band to appear on all Megadeth albums, and is their guitarist, singer and main composer and lyricist. The band has enjoyed commercial success, with records such as “Peace Sells… But Who’s Buying?” 1986, 1990’s “Rust In Peace” and 1992’s “Countdown to Extinction”. Megadeth disbanded in 2002 and reunited in 2004. They are one of the “Big Four” of thrash metal, along with Anthrax, Slayer and Metallica[1] and a key representative of the “Bay Area” (San Francisco) thrash music scene, from where he emerged in the 80s.
